Claremont and Coast Case Study

Claremont Hotel & Coast Restaurant

Brief

The Sleepwell Hotel Group approached us to help position the premier hotel in their portfolio as the first choice for business travellers to the Isle of Man. The Claremont Hotel and Coast restaurant is not only centrally located in the business quarter, but at the time they had also completed a multi-million pound renovation and upgrade of the rooms and lobby area. The client wanted this hotel to appeal to business guests who are regulars to luxury level hotels in London, Berlin and Paris. They employed a top-level chef to set the Coast restaurant apart which already benefitted from a fabulous sea view, something that set them apart from their competitors.

Approach

As regulars to the Coast restaurant, we had an appreciation for the great food, the ambience and the fantastic location. The sophisticated interior design of the rooms and lobby areas had a very elegant and minimalist feel which gave direction to our approach for positioning this brand.

We realised early on that capturing this elegant feel through photography would play a significant role in how this brand would be perceived to its core target audience. We employed one of the best architectural photographers, Michael Thompson, to achieve the very specific look we required, and he caught it perfectly.

Our design direction for the website was to showcase the hotel and restaurant as a visual feast with a stylish backdrop of copy boxes and interesting layering and dynamic treatments. The colour palette further enhanced the overall feel of this sophisticated brand. It also is reflective of the attention to the smallest detail this brand aspired to achieve.

Outcome

We are very privileged to have been associated with this client for more than 10 years and since the launch of this website in 2016 they have never struggled to maintain near 100% occupancy, apart from during COVID..

We believe this is a prime example of a timeless design and we have made very few updates to their site over the years.
